When we were in Singapore we went to the Science Centre. The first part was optical illusions. Optical illusions are things that trick your mind into seeing something that is fake.
With this optical illusion you watched a spinning wheel for 20 seconds and when you looked away it seemed like the other objects in the room were spinning. The instructions explained that your brain takes a moment to shift from looking at something moving and process something that isn't.

These photos looked like they were 3D even thought they weren't. |
On this one was that there was a 3D looking cave with 2 monsters. You could move one of the monsters back and forth. When you moved him towards the back of the tunnel he looked bigger than the other. (This is the picture on the left.) But if you bring the monster in the back forward you can see it is actually exactly the same size as the other monster. (This is the picture on the right.) This optical illusion is created because the stones were drawn smaller as they went back and bigger towards the front of the screen. This made the monster seem like he was changing size even though he wasn't.
In this illusion lego bricks were put together in an odd shape. Then they were put on a post which was spinning. Then a bright light was beamed at it. This made the shadow of an aeroplane even though the bricks resembled a dragon. Then as it twisted you could see a dragon shaped shadow.

This illusion made it look like your arm was bent when it was actually straight. |
This illusion had a seat and then a mirror making it look like two seats and a spaghetti plate on top. You could go under the mirrors and make it look like you were getting eaten like spaghetti.
In this illusion there was a plain black room with an electric piano and a small stool. They placed a pane of mirrored glass in between this room and a room that was decorated like an old house. So when you sat down on the stool you were reflected onto the stool in the 'ghost' room. So when you looked in through the window it look like you were a ghost inside the ghost room.
The optical illusions were only one small piece of the Science Centre but I think they were one of the coolest parts.
